Family and friends of the late Tom Harris gathered today on what would have been his 87th birthday to plant a tree in his memory at Borough Hall.
Mr. Harris was a founding member of our Shade Tree Commission. In addition, he was very active in community service and a well-known member of many organizations and volunteer activities.
Some of the boards and committees he served on include:
- Indiana Borough Council
- Indiana Free Library Board
- Welcome to Indiana Committee
- Parks and Recreation Commission
- Streets Commission
Most important to him was his family, which he regarded as his greatest accomplishment and treasure.
Tom's Tree is an Autumn Flowering Cherry and its beauty will compliment our community for decades to come.
