Garbage & Recycling

Indiana Borough garbage services are changing effective January 1, 2025.

Garbage

Waste Management, Inc., provides garbage collection for Indiana Borough. All garbage must be kept in sealed containers at the rear of the property and placed curbside no sooner than 24 hours prior to collection.

Effective January 1 2025, our Waste Management, Inc., contract is changing. Waste Management will be supplying 96-gallon containers to our residents in April 2025. Once those bins are distributed, unlimited garbage will no longer be provided. During this contract, bulk item collection will be limited to once per month. During the bulk collection week, residents can dispose of (2) bulk items. Residents may arrange a special pick-up for additional bulk items for an additional fee. With the new contract, Borough residents will now be able to schedule on-demand Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection. Learn more about HHW here

Residential pick-up is Monday through Thursday.

  • Monday – North of Philadelphia Street, East of 7th Street

  • Tuesday – North of Philadelphia Street, West of 7th Street

  • Wednesday – South of Philadelphia Street, East of 7th Street

  • Thursday – South of Philadelphia Street, West of 7th Street

Borough residents are billed for this service on your monthly utility bill.
