Light-Up Night and Parade Travel Information

Police Chief Justin Schawl was live today Indiana In The Morning earlier today on WCCS FM 101.1 to discuss information pertaining to the It's A Wonderful Life parade and the tree lighting ceremony.

The tree lighting ceremony will take place tomorrow at 6:00 PM, followed by the holiday parade at 7:00 PM.

Metered parking along the parade route (13th to 4th Street on Philadelphia Street) will be blocked off starting around 2:00 PM.

Metered parking on Water Street from 4th to 9th Street will also be blocked off to alleviate crowding in the detour route and provide ample room for emergency service vehicles.

There will be event parking ($5) in the parking garage from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Festival attendees are encouraged to arrive early as space in the garage is limited.

Please also note the traffic signal at the intersection of 4th Street and Philadelphia Street is currently inoperable and blinking red. In accordance with state laws, a blinking red stop sign means the entire intersection should be treated as a 4 way stop.

We request all motorists in the area to please use caution and be patient while navigating throughout the community during all of tomorrow's festival activities.
