Our Wastewater Treatment plant is one of many treatment plants around the nation providing data to measure the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Biobot Analytics is a team of researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard. They have developed a unique protocol using molecular biology laboratory techniques to identify traces of COVID-19 viral RNA in wastewater samples. This analysis provides insights into the presence of infected individuals and the prevalence of the virus within our community.
We are proud to be part of this groundbreaking research in wastewater-based epidemiology and will be sharing a report of what our Plant’s weekly sample indicates in the near future.
