A public meeting will be conducted on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 7:00 PM at the Indiana Borough Municipal Building located at 80 N. 8th Street, Indiana, PA to set the parameters of a Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) tax abatement.
The public meeting is accessible to individuals with disabilities and/or for persons with Limited English Proficiency. The public meeting is required by the LERTA legislation and provides an opportunity for the three taxing bodies to hear from constituents and discuss the abatement schedule and geographic extent of the LERTA. Proposed extent and abatement schedule information will be provided prior to the meeting in the form of a draft ordinance. It is hoped that all three taxing bodies will adopt similar ordinances offering abatement on improvements to properties within Indiana Borough, as consistent and overlapping abatement programs are the most effective in fostering economic development and property revitalization.
All interested citizen are encouraged to attend and will be offered the opportunity to give oral testimony at the public meeting and/or to present written comments concerning the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) tax abatement.
