We're happy to announce we have received the 2020 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence for the work done to renovate our 8th Street Parking Lot!
The project demonstrates that parking lots can be transformed in an environmentally friendly & sustainable fashion to support more eco-friendly forms of transportation. Some of the work done includes:
Repaved and restriped the entire lot to include handicap parking
Installed rain gardens and new piping infrastructure to manage stormwater runoff.
Installed an electric vehicle charging station through the PA Driving Forward Program.
Installed a trailhead for the Hoodlebug Trail powered with solar energy.
