The Sustainable Economic Development Task Force seeks to further diversify the local economy by crafting a plan to help become a more effective outlet for local producers.
Indiana, PA is one of 16 communities in the country that has been selected to participate in the 2018 Local Foods, Local Places technical assistance program. A two-day workshop is scheduled for next week.
A Community meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The purpose of this session will be to introduce the role local food can play in strengthening a community’s economic outlook and well-being, as well as to reveal our community’s goals and visions moving forward. Refreshments will be provided during the meeting.
Action-planning sessions will take place on Wednesday, October 10th from 9:00am-4:30pm. Strategies will be explored during these sessions which best accomplish the goals and vision discussed the night before. Lunch will also be provided.
