North 7th Street has been closed and will remain so until after Christmas and downtown decorations will begin being put up this week. Indiana Borough would like to thank the Borough of Blairsville for letting us borrow their bucket-truck to set up the decorations.

Tomorrow, the traditional Christmas tree will be raised up. To prevent a repeat of last year, when a powerful overnight windstorm knocked down the 42-foot tall tree, Public Works has drilled a hole meant secure the base of the tree and provide better resistance to high winds. The hole will be covered by a manhole for the majority of the year, except during the annual "It's A Wonderful Life" festival.
