G.E.T. Solar: Indiana is a group of local community leaders partnering with the PA Solar Center (a statewide nonprofit) to educate businesses, nonprofits, and community property owners on the benefits of going solar through their G.E.T. Solar Communities program.

With the rising cost of electricity and new federal incentives available, now is an opportune time to explore how installing solar on your property can save money. These webinars explain more:

At the meeting, you can expect to learn more about PA Solar Center's technical assistance and possible financing options such as:

- Tax credits

- Grant opportunities

- USDA REAP program

The PA Solar Center will also offer a free assessment of your organization's solar potential and issue RFPs (requests for proposals) for estimates from qualified solar developers. The PA Solar Center will review the bids with you and help you make sense of them — serving as your unbiased guide through the entire process.

G.E.T Solar is open to commercial and nonprofit organizations throughout Indiana Borough and White Township. The current window for applications to be included in the next round of RFPs is open until 2/24/2023.

Solar Co-op - Round III is NOW OPEN!

In November of 2018, Indiana Borough and other local entities partnered with Solar United Neighbors to create the Indiana County Solar Co-op. It grew to be one of Solar United Neighbor's most active co-ops in the state in terms of raw numbers and percentage of participants who signed solar contracts.

Co-ops take advantage of collective purchasing power to make it easier and cheaper for people to install solar systems. Participants select a single installer on behalf of the entire group through an open and competitive bidding process. The selected installer then provides personal proposals for all co-op members at a discounted group rate.

The bigger the Co-op, the better the deal.

Indiana County 2022-2023 Solar and EV Charger Co-op:

The Indiana County Solar Co-op is back, and this time with electric vehicle chargers!

If you've ever considered installing solar panels on your home or business, this is the second chance you've been waiting for. The co-op is open to homeowners and small businesses throughout Indiana County until 3/1/2023.

Joining is free and no contractual agreements are used during the signup. All members will be able to voluntarily choose whether or not to sign agreements with the selected installer.

SolSmart is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy to make it faster, cheaper and easier to go solar. We are designated as a Silver City in the program - the first and only in western Pennsylvania.
