Indiana Borough has requested, to Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to increase resident Sewage Treatment rates. If the request is approved, rates will increase from $12.57 to $16.72 per month, starting September 1, 2018.

Indiana Borough has not increased resident Sewage Treatment rates since 2002.

This increase is specifically related to treatment plant operations. There have been $1.8 million spent in equipment upgrades to our Sewer Plant. Unfortunately, we have exhausted all financial reserves by purchasing these necessary upgrades and now require an overall rate increase of $880,920 per year.
