PUBLIC WORKS

 

   The Indiana Borough Public Works Department is in charge of maintaining the streets, fall leaf collection, the storm water system, public owned property, and the sewage collection system maintenance.

   The department has a staff of 8 full time employees and one part-time maintenance employee who maintain the Community Center building and the Borough office.

   The department maintains all facets of street repairs and maintenance; for example, potholes, paving, snow removal, street sweeping, etc. The department had a fleet of 7 trucks, all equipped with snow removal equipment and a backhoe. Mostly all vehicle maintenance is performed “in house”. The crew also performs paving on smaller alleys in addition to our annual contract paving. Storm system catch basin repair in an ongoing project consisting of a minimum of 70 basins rebuilt annually.
