The Indiana Borough Police Department provides 24hr coverage 7 days a week to the citizens of Indiana Borough and handles approximately 10,000 calls for service annually.  The Department is staffed with 22 full-time sworn police officers assigned to three different divisions, Patrol, Criminal Investigation and Parking & Traffic.  A Sergeant who reports directly to the Chief of Police supervises each Division.  The department is complimented by, 8 full-time civilian support staff, which include police dispatchers, administrative secretary and parking staff, along with 14 part-time civilian staff assigned to parking enforcement and school crossing guards.  Indiana Borough Police Officers also serve in numerous multi-jurisdictional task forces including the Indiana County Drug Task Force, Indiana County DUI Task force, Indiana County Disaster Task Force, Indiana County Domestic and sexual assault task force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force.
